What Is Goodwood Revival?

Goodwood Revival is a three-day historic motorsport festival held at the Goodwood Motor Circuit in West Sussex, celebrating racing and culture from 1948 to 1966. It’s a separate event from the Festival of Speed, which runs at Goodwood House in July – the Revival is the one where the circuit itself, and the crowd, step back sixty-odd years.

The 2026 edition runs Friday 18 to Sunday 20 September, built around the “La Dolce Vita” theme. Expect period racing across all three days, WWII-era flypasts, the Settrington Cup pedal car race for children, and a retro high street of vintage shopping – all set inside a circuit that bans anything built after 1966 from driving in.

Why Book a Private Chauffeur to Goodwood Revival

Booking a chauffeur removes the two biggest friction points of the day: the walk from parking and the wait to leave.

Your driver handles the A27 traffic, drops you close to the gate, and is ready when racing wraps up — no standing in the shuttle bus line as thousands of other spectators try to leave at once. If you’re arriving in period dress or carrying hampers for a hospitality box, that direct drop-off matters more than it sounds.

Note: All prices are for full-day hire up to 10 hours.

 Hire structures:

  • Hourly chauffeur hire for full-day events, with a 5-hour minimum
  • Full-day hire covering your entire journey to and from the event
  • Multi-stop journeys available on request — useful for picking up colleagues or clients from different addresses en route

Full-day hire suits most Revival visitors, since gates open early and racing often runs into the evening. Hourly hire with the 5-hour minimum works better if you’re attending a shorter session or joining later in the day.

Frequently Asked Questions

What time do the gates open at Goodwood Revival?

General admission gates open at 08:30. GRRC members and Fellows can enter from 07:30, while Over the Road, including the funfair and additional attractions, also opens to everyone from 07:30. Arriving by chauffeur with City and Airport Cars before the main rush gives you time to enter and explore before the first sessions begin.

Is there a dress code at Goodwood Revival?

There is no compulsory dress code for general admission, but most visitors embrace the event’s famous period style, inspired by fashion from 1948 to 1966. Dressing in vintage or period-inspired clothing is a genuine part of the Goodwood Revival experience. For central Paddock access, gentlemen are required to wear a jacket and tie, while ladies should wear a dress or suit.

How do I get to Goodwood Revival from London?

By chauffeur, the journey from central London takes approximately 1 hour 45 minutes, depending on traffic, with direct drop-off at Car Park D. By train, the journey to Chichester takes around 1 hour 35 minutes on Friday, with longer journeys expected on Saturday and Sunday due to engineering diversions, followed by shuttle buses and potential queues.

Can you collect us from a London airport for the Revival?

Yes. City and Airport Cars provides airport-to-Goodwood transfers from Heathrow, Gatwick and London City Airport. Your journey can be timed around your flight, making it convenient for overseas visitors travelling directly from the airport to Goodwood Revival or stopping at a London or local hotel first.

Is parking included if I book a chauffeur instead of driving myself?

You won’t need to arrange parking yourself. Your chauffeur can drop you at Car Park D and either wait nearby or return at your agreed collection time. This means you can avoid the grass-field parking areas, along with the longer walk and potential traffic associated with entering and leaving them.

Can I book a chauffeur for just one day of the three-day event?

Yes. City and Airport Cars accepts single-day chauffeur bookings for Friday, Saturday or Sunday of Goodwood Revival. If you’re attending for multiple days, separate daily bookings or a multi-day chauffeur package can also be arranged.

What happens if racing runs late? Will my driver wait?

Your collection time is agreed in advance and can be planned around the day’s schedule, allowing for sessions that may run over. If your plans change during the event, you can contact your chauffeur directly to discuss the updated collection time rather than relying on a fixed shuttle bus timetable.
